Cover your "area" with baking soda. Scrub it around with a little water, then rinse it all off. From there, maybe soak in a bathtub full of scented soaps and oils.

maybe your washer is broke.? Try adding baking soda with the laundry soap .....if your talking about your football equipment they have special shops that you can drop it off and get it cleaned....not sure how much but my sons hockey equipment has to be cleaned at least once a month !!
