Girls only please help i'm really scared!?!

Question: Girls only please help i'm really scared!.?
Okay so yesterday in chorus class I had this really bad cramp, then when the day was over I went home and at about 11:30 PM I wiped and I got this red stuff and i'm like oh no! So my mom gave me a huge pad and overnight I got my period. So this morning I checked and like everyone says it was light and brownish. So now I have a pad and I wiped all that red off, but i'm really scared if it's going to hurt and what days it comes, but my mom told me that I should just wait and figure out because she said you might not be lucky enough to figure out what days it comes. I'm just scared about my period and freaking out and not use to it and just please help, I need to know lots of information about it.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You should get your period about once a month, give or take a few days either side (some people have a 28 day cycle, others a bit longer for example, and it lasts say 5 days but gets lighter after two days). You can get cramps sometimes and maybe feel a bit naseous, but everyone is different and there are tablets that can help if and when you need them. Really, you should keep asking your mom questions. It is good she is there to help you. It is a big deal, but you will get used to it. You will get to work out roughly when your period is due once it is regular (might take a little while to happen), but it is easy to deal with that as you can just carry sanitary items around with you. The pads are a lot smaller now than when I started. Maybe you can get some smaller, more comfortable pads. You need to keep changing them and all that sort of stuff, that your mom can help with. Good luck, it will not be scary for long, really.Health Question & Answer

relax, it happens to us all. If you don't have a period that is predictable (and at first you probably won't, it takes a little time), just carry a few extra pads or tampons in your purse with you all the time. And when you feel that cramping again, go to the bathroom to check, no biggie.

You'll get used to it hun, after a while you might want to try tampons, they are SO much more comfortable than pads, you can't even tell it's there.

it doesn't hurt at all. you'll get cramps sometimes but not all the time. i hardly ever have cramps. without the cramps its painless. sometimes there's alot, sometimes there's not alot. just be careful of what you wear. i usually wear darker colored jeans when im on mine. and just in case it does bleed through (yes it does it sometimes) wear a jacket and if its noticeablele then just tie your jacket around your waist.Health Question & Answer

Health Question & Answer

IM SURE YOU WILL BE FINE!
lot of people get pains but they only are there for a short while and painkillers make it better so dont worry about that.
Every girl in the world goes through it so its not a big deal, in a couple of months you wont be worried at all.Health Question & Answer

You should be fine. Sometimes when you get it the first time your body is still adjusting. Don't stress about it. If you're still concerned, call your doctor.Health Question & Answer

Totally normal to feel this way. The only good source would be your mother. Calm down.Health Question & Answer

Don't be worried. You can't even feel the blood coming out, and the only pain you may feel is (as you've already experienced) cramps. Cramps are just a sign that your body is pushing the tissues/ blood out of your body. You can get rid of them easily with Advil or something like that. Aspirin works fine, as well.

Your mom is right, it might take a while for your body to figure out a specific schedule. Until then, you might have to do some guessing and trial-and-error. Here's a tip, though: ask your mom when her period is. Yours will probably end up attuning pretty closely to hers.Health Question & Answer
