there are many tampons out there, some just have plastic wraps on them, others have either cardboard or plastic tubes holding the tampon inside with a string, these are called applicators. There is a small inside tube and a larger outside tube holding the tampon inside

The string goes away from the vagina, you insert the tubes, about half ways in, hold the outside tube with the other hand and then push the inside tube in, this will push the tampon up and into place. the sting should be still on the outside hanging.

You can experiment with one to see how they work, it is really easy :-)

Read the instructions and never forget to take it out, this is what the string is for, pull it out,

After awhile, you will be able to do this with with-out the applicator

Tampons may hurt when you first insert one but you should feel comfortable after you put it in. This is why some ladies forget to remove them and they can cause bad infections and you will need to see a doctor.

BTW, if you are a virgin, you will break the hymen and this will hurt and many ladies want to keep this intact to prove they are still virgins when they are older :-)

Good luck sweetheart! Health Question & Answer

Personally i think you should wait a couple more years to use one, you vagina tunnel inside may not be ready to be stretched, unless you masturbate. If you are certain on using one here are some useful instructions.

1) For you first time it may be easier to lie down and spread you legs when inserting the tampon.

2) When the tip of the tampon is at you labia, tilt the tampon slightly so it can go in and it faces your back.

3) Again because it is your first time when you push the tampon in push it in carefully.

4) When it feels secure and isn't uncomfortable, your good to go.

I suggest you also talk to your mom about this as well, just so she knows in case she goes out and buys pads when you don't need themHealth Question & Answer

The ones with plastic applicators *definitely* make things easier for girls who've never used tampons before... but once you know how, anything that's comfortable to wear will be easy to insert.

Helpful advice (beyond the semi-useless package directions).? Yeah... just three things:

1) Aim the tampon more towards your back than upwards... your vagina actually goes *back* for more than half of its length, not just up... and push it in gently (twisting it back and forth a bit might help it slide more easily) as far as the applicator will go while you're still holding the end of it.

2) It'll be easier to do the first time if things are slippery "down there", so don't wipe away any blood and stuff until you've got the tampon in place. If there's very little blood there, just smear a couple of drops of saliva on the tip of the tampon (or its applicator if it has one) and it'll make things a lot more comfortable.

3) Relaxation is **important**. If relaxing isn't easy for you, try pushing just a little bit as if you're trying to poop or pee... your pelvic muscles will relax a bit and that will help a *lot*.

There's an OK video instruction about it at http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/...Health Question & Answer

there are clear instructions in the box.
i would recommend tampax pearl. = ]

most of the "serious" answers on here include something with putting your foot on the edge of your tub or toilet lid, then taking the tampon out of the plastic wrapper, then putting the big part with the cotton thing (not the string) into the entrance of your ********, then slide it in, but not too far. then you want to slowly push in the other side with the string hanging out, until it goes all the way in. then, slowly pull out the whole cardboard/ plastic applicator, and you should just have a string left dangling out.

that's about the best way i know how to explain it. hope it helped.
good luck with swimming = ]Health Question & Answer

there are directions in the box, but if you still dont understand
open your legs, instert the applicator at a slanted angle towards your back into yur hole, slide it in until the core is sticking out, hold the core and push it in, and pull the applicator out. It takes practice, trust me my first time using a tampon wasnt fun, but now i love them, good luck!Health Question & Answer

there should be instructions on the pack. you can use lube 2 make it easier the 1st time. make sure u insert it all the way towards the small of your back so it doesnt cause you any discomfort when sitting and moving and make sure the thread is attached well. And also use the mini tampons at first and start using it on your heavy flow days so it's easier to insert.Health Question & Answer

on the box, there should be directions. read those.
it took me a little practice, because i couldn't find the hole.
i know it sounds gross, but try exploring down their with your fingers, and once you find your hole, just slide the tampon in.
make sure your legs are spread a little when you slide it, tho.

wash your hands after, please. ha.Health Question & Answer

You may be too young for it. I tried at that age and had problems. If you must do it though, I suggest waiting until the 2nd or 3rd day into your period. Follow the instruction on the box.Health Question & Answer
