When I was sixteen/seventeen I was going through the same thing. I had my periods every two weeks or on the rare occasion that I'd only get it once a month, it would last between eight to ten days. I talked to my doctor about it and she put me on Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo. For me, the side effects were none. I actually lost some weight, my acne cleared up, and my mood swings were NO where near as bad as they use to be. Plus, I got my periods only once a month for three to four days. Very light periods, I may add. Just talk to your doctor, they'll be able to help. They'll probably do a few tests, I ended up just having a hormonal imbalance. This is actually more common than most people think. Especially in younger girls.Health Question & Answer

Heyyy ohhh dearrr i know the feeling. I am 15 and have had some very spazzed periods. At the start one of my monthleys lasted for 8 weeks lol and mine do usually start every 2 weeks, never the full month. I didn't wanna go on the pill either as i heard u could gain weight or feel more hungry so the doctor gave me Mefenamic Acid tablets. U take them 3 times a day after your meal when your on. Its to stop period pain (but i never get that) or irregular periods (as mine are all over the pace and unfortunatley heavy) but i have been taking them for about 4 months now and it does make a difference! Mine are starting to become every 28 days now and i dont panic as much at skl cos its not as heavy anymore. It basically just balances out the hormones i think and there is no side effects. Ask ur doc about it. I would reccomend them. Good Luck :) Health Question & Answer
