I have really strong cramps like I'm going to start my period but I'm a week late and all there has been is some brown discharge. I have been really tired and have had bad headaches. I don't ever remember there being a condom break.....what should I do.?Health Question & Answer

this question pops up like EVERY frickin day! I think it should tell us 2 things:
1) our society needs better health education (NOT just abstinence)
2) obviously if you are so worried about being pregnant you don't know the signs and you probably didn't use birth control very well. meaning ABORTION should be legal.Health Question & Answer

The short answer is yes, you COULD be pregnant if you've had sex. The only 100% effective birth control is abstinence. GO TO THE DOCTOR! You may have a very bad vaginal infection. (Could you have left a tampon in there.?) also try Planned Parenthood. Maybe they can help you, whether you are pregnant or not. Take a pregnancy test to know for sure. Anything else is just guessing. It's so hard to know for sure without a test because symptoms of early pregnancy are the same as right before a period. It could be either one...there's only one way to find out.Health Question & Answer
Take a home pregnancy test. Brown discharge could be implantation bleeding (when the egg implants). If the test turns negative, it may be stress related. You don't always have to have a condom break. Health Question & Answer
if i was in your position, i wouldn't get to scared about it, simply get a pregnancy test, and hope for the best. either that, or go to a doctor, personally i'd go for the first one.
