Does anyone know what might be causing this?!

Question: Does anyone know what might be causing this.?
I had a miscarriage on the 25th of sept. i was 18 weeks and 5 days. I had to have a D&C done after giving birth.I bled for 16 days which the dr said was normal. 28 days later I got my period which was really heavy and had bad cramping. After the heavyness slowed down i continued to spot, (stopping at night then starting back the next day. The dr put me on provera pills. I only took six then decided to stop taking them. I spotted the whole time I was on them. Three days after i quit I got another period...It wasn't near time for it. I have continued to spot or bleed ever since. It slows at night or stops then starts back up the next day. Since my miscarriage I have had about one week where i wasn't bleeding/spotting. I havent had any bad cramping and the bleeding isn't severe. It's just very frustrating cause it seems like there is no end to it. It almost looks like discharge mixed with blood sometimes (sorry if that's too much info) but that's the best way to describe it. Ive had normal pap smears and the pathology report from the D&C showed no signs of cancer. Any ideas would help. This has been going on now for two months. Health Question & Answer

Hey girl,First I would like to say that I am soo sorry for your loss and know how you feel.I too have had a miscarriage and an emergency DNC was necessary. After my miscarriage it took a long time for me to get my periods back on track. I too was having spotting, and my periods were really off schedule, like I had 2 periods in 2 weeks time, it was crazy and very frustrating because I did not know if and when it was going to stop. About 3 and a half month later the spotting slowed way down and eventually stopped, my periods also got back to normal. When your body goes through something like that it is very traumatic and completely will throw your periods out of whack. It is a completely normal thing hun, so don't freak out. You are fine and you periods should get back to normal within the next month or two. I really hope this helps and good luck to you.

also hun, if this continues on for much longer you may want to start taking an iron supplement so you don't become anemic, That would not be good, you have already been through enough and dont need to go through anymore. Best wishes hun.Health Question & Answer

I believe your body is trying to get rid those stuff naturally. When your body expelled all the sac and everything u will stop bleeding. It could also be the bleeding mixed with irritation from D & C. It is normal. It will heal. Health Question & Answer

Get a 2nd opinion, something doesn't sound right. With all the blood loss it could lead to anemia. Weak and pale blood cells need an emergency dose of iron.Health Question & Answer

Well, the actual term is DNC. I have had one myself, but only because I wouldn't stop bleeding. The doctor put you on the provera to regulate your hormones and get your cycle back on track. You need to continue taking the provera. You will spot for about a week or 2, but then your body will become accustomed to the hormones and you'll be back on a normal cycle. TRUST ME....I've been through this, it will work.Health Question & Answer
