Party is tomorrow, but I have my period =( ?!

Question: Party is tomorrow, but I have my period =( .?
I am 16, and tomorrow is a HUGE family reunion. But there is a party (at a friends house) that I want to go to instead.
Anyways, the past week I have been killing myself over this. Reunion.? Party.? Ahhh what do I choose.?.?.? Make my mom happy.? or meet some cuties.?.?
Anyways, now I cant go to either because I got my period today. I am so upset. I am new to periods, so I know that I will get blood on my pants or something, and get embarrassed. Ugh, plus I have the worst cramps. What should I do.? Now I cant go to either =[[[ im so depressedHealth Question & Answer

Don't worry about the blood. I've had periods for 8 years now, and I still have it happen. *pats*

Anyway, have you ever attempted to use a tampon.? Paired with a pad, they can practically make bleeding through your pants impossible. Just be sure to switch the tampon every three to four hours or so to minimize the chances of it leaking. This also lessens the chances of Toxic Shock Syndrome from occurring, though keep in mind that's rare to begin with.

Since I'm not regular, I always use a hoody and tie it around my waist to prevent anyone from seeing the bottom of my pants just in case I do ever leak through.

For the cramps, I never quite experienced them. You can attempt to use a heating pad, or take some aspirin to lighten up the pain. Health Question & Answer

For the period -- use a combination of a tampon AND a pad, just in case there's leakage.

For the cramps -- advil or midol works great!

Choosing which party -- go to both! Go to the family reunion first, and go to your friend's party afterwards, because that's when things usually start to liven up anyways.

Have fun!Health Question & Answer

you will get used to them don't worry about that but try not to let it stop your social life.
its your decision which one you go to but i personally feel you should go to your family reunion - your family are their through thick and thin but your friends will come and go.
the best thing to do is to take plenty of supplies, where dark clothing and make sure you nip t the toilet more often to refresh.
take some aspirin before you go out and if poss get a hot water bottle on your stomach to ease the pain before you go.
hope this helpsHealth Question & Answer

put in a tampon, wear dark pants and take some paracetamol or ibruprofen to ease the pain then have a good time, your period shouldn't stop your social life and you having fun if it persists like this contact your doctor as there are ways such as BirthControlPills pills which ease the pain of you period and make it lighter and also make sex much safer for you too Health Question & Answer

Why not go to the start of the reunion then turn up late to the party.?
Just take a couple of pads and forget about it.
Health Question & Answer

Explain to your mum... She'll understand. Then you call your friends, tell them a white lie (or tell them that you have to go to your family reunion) and both will understand. God bless you! :) Health Question & Answer

needed, your life can't stop just because of your period.
and about the cramps try advil and a heating pad /warm rag
Health Question & Answer

just get some pads and take some ibuprofen for the cramps then go to whichever party you want. Health Question & Answer

wear a tampon or a pad at least!! if your flow is that heavy youve got problems.Health Question & Answer

I think you should go to the reunion, you can go to parties anytime, but you can't often go to a family reunion where you'll see a lot of people. Even though you have your period, it would still be nice if you went. Just bring some pads or tampons along with you in a little purse or something, and make sure you know where the bathroom is. also take some Ibuprofen before you go, and make sure you bring some with you. You also want to make sure that you have spare underwear, even more than you would normally bring to a sleepover, and make sure you bring night pads- if you are a heavy bleeder this helps so you don't get blood all over everything. Just make sure you have all you need, and you will be fine. For the car ride, (even though it won't help the whole time it would be smart if you brought along a heat pack or a hot water bottle to just hold on the cramping area, this helps a lot. And make sure your mom knows you're on your period, this way you can be sure that if you need to stop at a public restroom, then your mom will understand why and she can insist on stopping, for your benefit. Hope this helps and I hope you get to go!
