Question: Taking the pill and pregnancy tests.?

I was just wondering, since the pill works by mimicking pregnancy. If you took a pregnancy test whilst on the pill, would you get a false positive result.?Health Question & Answer

No, the pregnancy test detects the hormone hCG. You only have enough hCG for the test when you're pregnant. The pill doesn't increase the hCG levels so it doesn't affect a pregnancy test result. It doesn't work by mimicking pregnancy to that extent, it just suppresses ovulation etc.

nah, tests are generally spozed to be okay even if ur on the pill.. but theyre not entirely reliable anyway so a false positive could happen anyways..Health Question & Answer
