Period problem, can you PLEASE help?!

Question: Period problem, can you PLEASE help.?
Whenever I am just walking around, or standing up no blood comes out. Unless I am in the shower. But if I sit down, and get up even if I only sat down for 10 minutes, blood just pours out. Very heavily! And then it's clotty too. I really notice the clots if I go pee, and the clots fall out. Every time I go to pee, the whole toilet bowl fills up with blood and clots. The clots are sometimes the size of golf balls but sometimes the size of a big toe. Its hard to describe. Whenever I get up from sitting down I immediately have to go to the restroom to let all the clots fall out and the blood. If I let it go in my pad it will feel like jello, and I will leak, even if I'm wearing a super heavy pad. Btw, this is my first period ever and got it Tuesday so its still new. My mom said this is normal but I heard you should only lose one tablespoon of blood a day while on your period. I've literally been through 10 heavy pads today! PLEASE HELP.Health Question & Answer

You're fine it's normal. The "clots" are just your endometrium (uterus lining) cleaning out. that's what a period is. it is the layer of the uterus that prepared for pregnancy and flushed out after.Health Question & Answer

It's ok, it is normal and I've had that before. Fortunately, not all your periods will be this heavy.Health Question & Answer
