Umm..I shaved down there. Will my doc think I'm a porn star?!

Question: Umm..I shaved down there. Will my doc think I'm a porn star.?
Hi, I'm 20 and having some issues with my cycle and have to see a doctor. I have never had a pap smear and i'm a virgin so I've never had anyone down there. I usually keep my bush trimmed well but I wanted to try something new and shaved it. Now I'm worried the doc will think i'm a porn star or freak or something. I don't know what to do and I'm so scared of the check-up itself. What exactly do they do when you go for an annual.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
For the itching--Vitamin A & D gel, also known as diaper rash creme. I swear it works like a charm.

A lot of women "maintain the area" so to speak. It's nothing to be ashamed of and he or she will most likely not even think about your shaving job. They will be concerned first and foremost with your health and care.Health Question & Answer

Wow, you should have started having yearly exams a couple of years ago.
Anyways, to your question; Your doctor will not think anything of your shaved area, if he even notices at all. They don't care what you do with your hair down there. Besides, alot of girls shave or wax that area and it's totally normal. Gyno's have seen it all so do not worry about that.
Here is a link to a site that explains what happens at the annual exam.

Relax, it's over before you know it and you will have a whole year before you have to go through it again.
Hope this helped!Health Question & Answer

Your doctor wont think you're a porn star. About every one does it now. But the itching will stop but if you don't want any kind of hair down there I suggest waxing. It hurts at first but then you get use to it and then you wont itch. And on a check up all they do is a pelvic exam. where they put something that looks like a ducks beak in you and swab you cervix. It is over in about 10 seconds and then they do a breast exam where they just feel for any abnormal lumps and then just ask you questions. That's about it. Hope I helped hun. Take care and God Bless.Health Question & Answer

why would shaving down there make you look like a pornstar.?.?!!
so many people shave down there.
and to get it to stop itching use a shaving gel or after shaving lotion.
you could get it waxed also.Health Question & Answer

Nah I think it's quite common for young women to shave it all down there (though I don't). Doctors see all sorts. I heard aloe vera can help with itching though that's one reason why I wouldn't want to do it either!
