i have a lump in my right breast. i had it checked by the doctor and she said its nothing serious. i'm 19 and am thinking of starting birth control. i haven't spoken to the doctor about that yet but i read somewhere on the internet that doctors are saying birth control can cause breast cancer. if i start taking the pill, will the lump turn into something serious.? also, how can one find out what pill is right for them.?Health Question & Answer

You could just have a cyst in your breast.. they're hormonal and completely harmless. They're typically caused by too much estrogen, and have nothing to do with breast cancer. Going on a lower-estrogen birth control pill could actually help the lump go away.
