I have a female doctor, and i feel more comfortable with a girl around, but that's just me. it usually doesn't take much time you book one, just a call maybe a week or two before. If you really want a female doctor, it maybe takes a few extra days, but nothing huge. I hope i helped!Health Question & Answer
I truly don't care. A doctor is doctor and I only care that they are good and competent doctors. If I had a choice between two equally good doctors I guess I would choose the male. I'm actually more comfortable when it's a man probing around down there than another woman.

How long appointments take would be different for each doctor. If it's for a routine exam, I'm sure you would need to wait longer than someone who was having symptoms of a problem. my GP is a female, she does all of my pap tests, but I have seen a specialist because i had abnormal cells in my uterus he wa sa male but he was sooo nice and I felt completely comfortable. so to answer ur question, I dont' think gender matters so much as how the person treats you and makes you feel. If you get a doctor who comforts you and eases you into a procedure then it does not matter if it's male or female. A good doctor is a good doctor after all.Health Question & Answer
Mine is a woman and I always make appointments way in advance so don't know how long it would take you to see a new doctor. You have a choice, just check the phone book for lady doctors.
