You can be pregnant after a regular period, I know, because I did... BUT your tummy will not develop a 'pooch' until you are at least 2-3 months along. Your lower abdominal 'pooch' is probably bloating that can be caused by any number of things, including, but not limited to: constipation: how long has it been since you've had a bowel movement.? Menstrual bloating: many women get bloated from PMS which, for those of you who don't know the actual meaning of that, it is PREmenstrual syndrome, where you get grouchy, bloated, etc. during the week BEFORE your period and sometimes continues during your period. Or, it could be bloating from just plain gas. Stay away from soda pop and especially diet soda, which will bloat you bad, and see what happens.
