Honestly, I had a horrible experience with it. However, hormonal birth control (i.e. the pill) really screws with me in general, so that's something to consider.
If you are fairskinned, sensitive and have allergies, I would recommend you don't use the nuva ring. I used it for 3 months and had ongoing irritation and infection which I believe was an allergic reaction. also, I became severely depressed and anxious, no appetite/libido, nausea and fatigue. Again, all hormonal birth control pill does this to me. The pill is even worse for me: constant headaches and leg pain. I basically lose my will to live.
It's not some magical birth control like they want you to believe. No hormonal birth control is. You are basically fooling your body into thinking it is pregnant for years at a time. And now you are leaving something inside your vagina for 3 weeks at a time, too.?.?.? How is that healthy.?.? To make matters worse, all those hormones make it more difficult for you to absorb nutrients and can cause vitamin deficiencies, leading to all sorts of problems.
If you go on any hormonal birth control, find the right one for you and take a multi-vitamin or b vitamin complex to stay healthy. Don't put up with feeling like crap. And don't be afraid to just say no to hormonal birth control! There are still other non-hormonal options like condoms and IUDs and diaphragms, etc.

I am using it now and I adore it, I can't feel it at all and I'm a small girl, also its only changed once a month so I just mark it on my phone calender so I never forget, and it protects against birth very well. Well I only used it for a few months because I hated it!
i put it in on the last day of my period and had my period the hole month and that was horrible! But yeah I just did not like it plus the fact that i kept freaking out thinking it could possibly fall out!

It was bad enough that I bled for a month straight after starting it! But the worst was how I felt. I wasn't just irritable - I was practically homocidal! I stopped after that first month because I was literally afraid I would lose my job!Health Question & Answer
