I got my first period...?!

Question: I got my first period....?
I got my period when I was 14, two years ago and the first time I had it, it was SO heavy that I had to change my pad every two hours or even more. It lasted 7 or 8 days as well... Two years later, my period is very light. I have to change every 5 or 6 hours and only on the first and second day. It also only lasts 3 or 4 days now, and only 2 of actually "heavy" bleeding. Everyone says your period will get heavier your second time around but nooo.. total opposite for me. Is that weird or normal..or why did that happen lol.? just curious to know/Health Question & Answer

Sounds normal to me, I started mine when I was 12 years old, very heavy and and lasted almost ten days. Now that I'm 19 I have very light periods lasting only about 4-5 days. My doctor isn't concerned neither am I. I;m not sure why it occurs I'd assume changes in hormonal patterns. As you get older and your body is no longer going through the stress of puberty the hormones balance out.Health Question & Answer

i started when i was 9 years old..i was very heavy for 3-4 days which was how long it lasted..then when i was around 11 or 12 it would be heavy for 4-5 days and i would be lite for 2-3 days. when i was around 14 it was heavy for 4-5 days and that was it. now i am 17 and truthfully its heavy for the first 2 days then i have 1 lite day and i am over. some people get worse as time goes on, some people get better as time goes on. its just the way your body reacts to it, because everybody is differentHealth Question & Answer

Everyone's different, and it's not true that people's periods get heavier as they grow older. Some people actually have heavy periods and stay heavy for the rest of their lives. Some start out light and stay light. Yes, there are some that start out heavy and go light, as well as start out light and go heavy (like you). It's very normal.Health Question & Answer

If you've had any significant weight loss between when you started and now, that's probably the reason. On the other hand, every body is different, and I wouldn't call a thing like this unusual.Health Question & Answer

You are fine. Don't worry about it. It is different for everyone.Health Question & Answer
