Is a two week period something to worry about?!

Question: Is a two week period something to worry about.?
Well I've had a brown blood flow for about a week but I thought that was brought on from being a week late. Although, now I seem to be getting my regular red flow, with more cramps and pain than normal...I don't know if I should be worried or not. Please can someone help me. I'm 22 and know pretty much what is normal for me now that I'm off of my birth-control, but I don't know what to do for this.Health Question & Answer

Two weeks can be normal from time to time.
Three weeks.? Not so much. If it gets to three weeks, that's when you should see a doctor and make sure nothing's wrong. I've had a few periods that lasted a couple weeks and nothing was wrong. Sometimes it can be stress that causes it.. or poor diet.

First two people who answered (probably male) are freaking idiots. You don't lose that that much blood when you're on your period. They say you only lose 1-2 teaspoons. Most of it is just fluids, so you wouldn't die...Health Question & Answer

That is not normal. It is possible if you are coming off of birth control, that your body is resetting itself, which can take several months before you are "normal" again. Though, what you are describing is also consistent with a miscarriage. The best thing to do is see the doc that prescribed the birth control, hopefully someone with a lot of knowledge of female problems. Even if everything is fine, it would be good to let them know that you are having a bad reaction.Health Question & Answer

Did you get off birth control recently if so it can be due to the lack of hormones in your system and making you irregular it should go back to a few days ..i know i have my period once for 10days every 3 months or so and i am not on birth control and its caus emy system is like that if it persists consult a doctorHealth Question & Answer

this can continue to happen after quitting birth contro. lots of women are mistaken and think that their bodies will return back to normal but thats usually not this case. there are so many other women asking this you are not alone. your cycle should be regulated and go back to normalHealth Question & Answer

If you just stopped birth control, it is normal. Your body has to get use to the hormonal change. If bleeding continues after the two weeks see a doctor. Especially if your currently having sex.Health Question & Answer

Since you've been off BC for a year, I doubt that has anything to do with it. you should go to the Doc and just get yourself checked out. You may have a Fibroid or Ovarian Cyst. Good Luck!!Health Question & Answer
