Questions about Obtaining Birth Control?!

Question: Questions about Obtaining Birth Control.?
I am 17 years old and I want to obtain birth control (like the patch or the pill) but I don't really know how to or how I'd afford it.

1. How much does it cost to go to planned parenthood for confidential birth control.?

2. How much does the actual birth control cost.? I prefer to use the patch because it'd be easier for me.

3. Does the doctor have to examine you down there for you to get it.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Usually you can get a years worth of BC pills for free at Planned Parenthood. BUT they will most likely want to do a pelvic exam first. But those aren't anything to worry about, it doesn't hurt its just uncomfortable.Health Question & Answer

I'm on the pill and a packet costs me $5AU, and lasts for three months.

HOWEVER: I live in Australia and have a health care card, so I get subsidised medication and health care.
The full cost for the box of pills (three months worth) is $14.50 AU.

I went to my doctor, confidentially and asked to go on it and he gave me a prescription. The doctor did not have to examine my vagina for me to get it.

However, they should take your blood pressure as the pill can rarely cause blood pressure to be too low.

xP I am sorry that I have no information on the cost of a patch, as I've found that the pill was more convenient for me.Health Question & Answer
