what are the side effects of aerobid asthma medicine?!

Question:
Answers:
Most commonly inhaled steroids like Aerobid have few side effects in practice. Other concern is the risk of infections. Steroids inhibit immune cells (same cells responsible for inflammation, asthma). With inhibition you can end up with some uncommon infections including fungal infections. Try to maintain good oral hygiene and always rinse your mouth after using the inhaler. Because the inhaler acts almost exclusively in the lungs there are not many systemic side effects or adrenal issues.

Other Answers:
Aerobid is an inhaled steroid for the maintenance of asthma, it is not a rescue inhaler. The inhaled steroids have less side effects then prednisone or other oral steroids. The listed side effects in my drug reference are as follows: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, upper respiratory infection, sore throat, nasal congestion, heartburn, taste changes, palpitations, abdominal pain, chest pain, dizziness, cough, and hypertension. Listed as a serious side effect is adrenal insufficiency which is a suppression of the gland that produce adrenalin. Sounds like a lot of problems, but remember that during testing, if one person complained of any problem, that must be listed as a possible side effect. You won't really know what to expect until you try the med. If it results in asthma attacks less often, and the side effects are mild, then you must decide if the med is worth taking.
