is taking too many vitamins (6 for example) every day bad for you?!

Question:
Answers:
Yes, taking too many vitamins can kill you. I'm not sure how many you would have to take, but I know that too much Iron or Calcium can make your heart stop, and too much potassium can make you have a heart attack. There's many other adverse affects as well. My advice to you would be to check your local phone book for a listing called the Poison Control Center. Tell them someone took 6 vitamins, and ask if they should be okay.

Other Answers:
depends on what they are for. you usually don't need to take that many vitamins. It's healthier to get your vitamins and minerals from food. ask a nutritionist.
According to Dr. Manny on Fox News, unless you are eating six servings of fruits and vegetables a day you do not need multivitamin. If not, one multivitamin should do.
YOu should list all the vitmains and the I.U amount and ask again. You should space them out so your liver is not overloaded and if you take too many your body will just excreet it osmehow. Usually really yellow pee haha. If they are minerals and vitamins it can be tricky because some can cancel out the others. Its good you are being healthy. Why not try a holistic doctor in your area to guide you!
A one a day multi vitamin should be all you need.
Overdosing on Vitamin A, D, E, and K could cause health problems. Usually, the best source of vitamins is actually your urine, since the human body accepts mostly energy (fats and sugars) and not vitamins and minerals.
Too much of almost anything is bad for you.
6 vitamins is probably overkill unless you're sick or something (in which case 2 would suffice).
1 vitamin per day is best. Extras won't really help you, and too much of certain vitamins and minerals can be quite harmful (read: death).
