As, I get older, it seems that my gums are receding. How do i repair or grow new!

Question:
Answers:
The single best thing you can do is brush and floss your teeth regularly. That more than anything will help your gums.

I do have one treasure that I can recommend to you. When I was pregnant I had a lot of trouble with bleeding gums and my midwife recommended a terrific mouthwash that really made a difference in 1 week. EcoDent Ultimate Daily Rinse. The bleeding really went down and my midwife said that that was a good sign that my gums were doing better.

There's a website on the bottle here: www.eco-dent.com - though I got it at Whole Foods.

Peace!

yes you do
it's still growing.only, not quick enough. It has been that way since you were 25 or so.
this is natural, make sure you brush your gums over your teeth, if it's really bad, your dentist may have solutions.
All you can do is be careful with your brushing. Be gentle; for the top gums brush down, for the bottom gums brush up. It will prevent more recession.
I have the same problem, and this is what my hygienist told me what to do. It does work. good luck.
That's a physiologic process, it is normal provided that recession is slow and that you are keeping a good oral hygien.

I'm a Dentist lol
If your gums recede to the point that you are at risk for bone loss, your dentist will inform you that you need to see a periodontist about getting a gum graft. That's a procedure where a section of healthy gum is removed from another part of your mouth (such as the roof of your mouth) and transplanted onto the trouble spot. This is the only repair for significantly receded gums. You cannot grow new tissue. I had this done myself 3 years ago.
As a registered dental hygienist I can tell you that receding gums is not a normal occurrance due to the aging process. There is usually something else going on such a periodontal disease, aggressive brushing, and/or grinding your teeth. There are gum surgeries that can repair the tissue. I suggest that you consult with your dentist and insist on a referral to a good periodontist.I don't suggest to my patients to brush with sensodyne as it is highly abrasive (kind of counter productive).Only use it by dabbing it on b4 you go to sleep.
You can't repair or grow the gums backs.
It is a sign of periodontal disease or you are brushing too hard. Once you have periodontal disease, it is irreversible.
Your receding gums are not age associated although alot of people think so. Visit a dental office to find out more about periodontal disease or google online.
It also helps by reducing the pressure you are using to brush your teeth. Use a brush with soft bristles. It is widely available.
