How to keep a discipline?!

Question: How to end the things you start without staying halfway.how to keep a discipline like a diet, a martial art way of life, a good habit.any suggestions of something that canreally be applied in life.something practical.little exercises or anything is welcomed.
Answers:
~START SMALL- baby steps. If you want to lose 30lbs then make a goal of 5lbs to start and slowly work your way up. Build your self esteem up for larger goals with small wins.

~KNOW YOURSELF.we all know what we are really capible of- even if we live in denial.work with your limits. You work with smaller goals then you are more likely to make your goals (even if it takes you longer) and once you start having more confidence it will get easier.

~DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS! You are not them- even if they did something very easy or fast you may not be able to do it the same. If you compare yourself to others then you will always be living in another person's shadow and it affects your self esteem.

~THINK AHEAD! Don't wait until the last min to decide to do something and then end up failing. If you want something that you have to work for during summer then start the winter before.not a week before summer. Then more time you have to get your goals, the more chance you have at reaching them.

~DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF- If you are working toward a goal don't make excuses to 'give yourself a break' for one day. Every time you let yourself slip it makes it harder to stay on track. If you want to start running everyday then don't skip a day because it's raining/ your tired/ it's your birthday- because the next excuse is a lot easier to make.until you've stoped really trying for your goal and your a world winning excuse maker.

~NEVER SAY CAN'T! There is no such word as 'can't'.there is only 'Don't' or 'Won't'. You are your greatest obsticle for goals.because you CAN do anything you put your mind to. Negative attitudes, peer pressure, laziness, low self esteem.and so on, are what holds everyone back from goals. It's your job to believe in what you're doing, and if you don't really want something then you WILL FAIL. Don't make goals you don't really want.it lessens your self esteem and effects the goals that you are REALLY trying to accomplish.

Other Answers:
Its depend on your mind if you believe if you can do then it is. No suggestion is required for you. I think. God bless you. Just follow what does your mind says not your feelings. Ok Buddy. Bye

There is an excellent book on this subject called: "Mastery - the Keys to Success and Long-Term Fulfillment", by George Leonard. It is a powerful little book. You can get it from Amazon.com for $14.00 or maybe even less.

Best wishes and good luck.
you sound like me. it's usually because i lose interest in something so i quit. it always seems like a good idea at first, but once you jump into it..... and you may be doing things for the wrong reasons too. i.e. dieting. i threw that to the wind a long time ago. and i'm not over weight. i just cut down on what i eat, but still eat what i want and exercise. (but i'm a bit hyper anyway). if i don't go to the gym i go out to the clubs and dance, dance, dance. or ride my bike, roller skate. stuff like that. you just have a busy mind is all. hell, i can't even sleep. and when i do (if i get there without pills) it's only for 4 hours! lol so you can't FORCE yourself to do anything. (that's my point) just modify it! (like me and the sleeping pills, if i want to sleep longer than 4 hours, take pills! suck, but it works)
