How can I fall asleep quickly when I go to bed?!

I am a light sleeper also. My tips:

(1) Get the room as dark as possible,
(2) Eliminate as much noise as possible,
(3) Make sure your room's ventilated,
(4) Keep the ambient temperature at, like, 66-70 degrees. Though I might be wrong.

(5) Be well hydrated,
(6) Take a Tylenol PM,
(7) Goto bed at a decent hour, AND.
(8) No naps after 4pm or meals after 6pm.

Try listening to soothing music, or nature sounds. Also I find that reading something before going to sleep helps.
take melatonin 30-45 minutes before bed time

I smoke a bit of pot, actually. Not nearly enough to get stoned, just enough to make me sleepy. That way if I need to get up early or in the middle of the night, I'm not drowsy and out of it like a lot of medications make you.
Try counting with every breath in a very dark room with no noises. Concentrate on your breathing.
Sleep with my wife. You'll be too terrified to even want to sleep.
I'm assuming you mean without taking sleepers. The best way is to go to bed relaxed. Maybe a nice warm bath with some lavender oil in it, a cup of camomile tea or ginger tea..maybe some soft music..sweet dreams.
