Is snoring a disease? How can one get rip of it?!

Question:
Answers:
Snoring isn't a disease it is a symptom of something else. The most serious usually is sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can be even more serious than previously thought, because studies have now shown that sleep apnea is a large cause of high blood pressure, heart problems and conditions, and strokes. Previously the biggest fear with people with sleep apnea was death, or that they wouldn't start breathing again. There are simple remedies for sleep apnea such as C-PAP machines. See your doctor and have a sleep study done.

Other Answers:
It can be a sign of a sleeping disorder. You can go in for a sleep study if there is a specialist where you live. Talk to your doctor about it.
No it is not a Disease it is however a condition that is treatable. A lot of it is the diamenter of your throat and the way you sleep. Try altering your position or for one night sleep in a chair I think you will find that it will help.

Snoring is a normal thing in life.
Large adenoids (sp?) can cause snoring too. Snoring leads to sleep apnea which doesn't help you sleep at all. Just talk to your doctor about treatments or getting your adenoids removed.
Sleep on your side (put a large pillow behind your back to keep you there) and possibly use a Breathe Right strip. Still snoring? You might want to see a doctor.
Most people that snore are overweight and have trouble breathing because of blockage in the windpipe, there are others that have trouble breathing sleeping in a certain position, others only snore when really tired, all of this can be treatable
Snoring is a "symptom" of another condition. It could be a nasal septal defect, or a soft pallete problem or polyps or even mucous from chronic sinus problems. A good work up from a ears nose & throat specialist maybe needed to figure out the cause of the excessive snoring and finding the cause may well determine the answer.
You may have sleep apnea? you should discuss it with your Dr.
