Do you know of a cure for Bells Palsy?!

Question:
Answers:
My mother and my friend both had this malady around the same time. (An amazing coincidence.) But Mum had acupuncture and then electrical stimulation of the facial muscles, while my friend just waited for it to pass. My mother's face was perfect in less than a year, but my friend still has a sagging lip and runny eye. So I think treatment is a better way to go. All the best.

From what I remember it takes time but eventually goes away on its own.I am sure you will be completely happy getting rid of the straw by then, right? Best wishes =)
My ex had the syndrome after giving birth to our first.
She had to go to a doctor every other day and have the nerves in her face stimulated by a TENS machine. That stands for Trans Cutaneous Nerve Stimulation. By stimulating the nerves they did not atrophy (die). She had a full recovery from it.
It did strike her funny to marry a Bell and then get Bell's Palsy... :)
There is no "cure". It is thought to be caused by a virus that irritates the facial nerve. Patients usually are treated with Anti-viral drugs, Steroids and watched closely for any return in nerve functioning. Almost all pts will receive some return of nerve functioning, but in some rare cases paralysis may be permanent.
