Is anyone else having problems after their gallbladder surgery?!

Question: Hi my name is Kandace and I had my gallbladder removed sept. 2nd 2005 (two weeks after giving birth to my son) I am recently having complications since my surgery. I have been having some pretty severe attacks, but dr.'s send me home like it's nothing. Tuesday I had an extremely painful attack that lasted 45 min. I felt like I was having a severe gallbladder attack, but I don't have a gallbladder. The pain started in my right rib cage, up to my right shoulder/shoulder blade, then to the middle of my chest. Followed by nausea and fatigue. That was my 6th attack since surgery, but definately the worst one so far. I am so sick of doctors treating me like I don't know what I am talking about like the problem has been taken care of. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem? If so have you been helped?

Honestly, its better you consult a specialist to find out what's best for you. I really want to help but I don't think I can give better answers than specialist do. Sorry.

good luck

I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks after my daughter was born. I had ghost pains for about 2 months after wards. They will go away. I have had the surgery 4 years ago and about every 3 months I have phantom pains.
I'm having gallbladder problems but I refuse to have mine removed. They tried to remove mine and couldn't do it do to complications and I use natural medicine to take care of mine. Check your GNC store out.
Yes, I had the same thing. The next time it happens take an aspirin and get to the nearest hospital emergency room. Have them check you for a heart attack.
Many people that do not have their gall bladder have to take a bile salts supplement. Ask your doctor about this..Also you need to watch your diet. You have no way to emulsify fat products
did you have it removed laproscopic or open as i had mine removed by laproscopic and i am doing great you also may want to be checked for pancreatitis
No, I had no trouble after mine but if I were you I'd see another Doctor.
Yes, I had my gallbladder out in 2004. I still suffer from massive attacks. I was told by my doctor that it is caused by the foods I choose to eat. He said that your body has to get used to digesting fat a different way and you should stay an a low fat diet until you know your body can take it. Even so, broccoli still makes me lay on the floor and cry.
I had mine removed in 95', I had one episode right after I had it removed where I had a sharp pain right under my Brest's,but that was it,the only problem I have now is major indigestion. If your having pain like that and your Doctor won't do anything,I believe I'd get a second opinion!
My Stepdad had to have his gallbladder removed about 10 years ago after he got crushed by a giant steel garage door.
I don't have any good news for you, unfortunately.
Just the other day I had to pick him up from the hospital and take him home.
The only thing we can think of that might have messed him up is that he had some milk with his cerial.
I'm not sure exactly why, but ever since he had his gall bladder removed, there are just certain things he can't eat.
Greasy food REALLY messes him up bad. Also, alchohol bothers him some too. He dosent drink beer, but he will have mix drinks. Maybe it's the acid or something.
He also had a camera put down his throat, and found that he had twisted his esophagis which left a hole. Not sure if this is the case for you, but he does have similar sickness attacks.
Basically, what he is doing to prevent these sickness attacks is staying away from greasy food, not drinking alchohol (most of the time), and avoiding the milk and taking calcium tabs instead.
Hope this helps.
Feel better!
i had my gallbladder removed 11-9-05 i had pain so severe i wanted to die. my husband took me to the er in december i had the worst case of pancretitis. the places you describe sounds like your pancreas. have the Dr's checked your lipase? mine was 2019 normal is about 150-250. did they check to see if a gallstone got left behind in bile duct canal?if not you might have them check those two things
That's NOT normal. If I were you I'd get a 2nd opinion.
