It shouldn't be your appendix--that's on the right side in most people. If it's very low in your abdomen, it could be ovulation pain or an ovarian cyst. If you have a cyst, it might be painful sometimes. If an ovarian cyst ruptures, it causes sharp stabbing pain that goes away in a few hours.
I would suggest having it checked out if the pain doesn't go away.

I thought your appendix was on the right side. Anyhow it might just be trapped gas. Try to fart or something. If it doesn't go away, go see a doctor it could be serious.
