Nothing is free.If you have a "product" as you say,then you SHOULD have the $$$ to pay for advertising,just that simple!
In my experience, you HAVE to invest money to make money. The problem with free marketing sites is that the only peole who really visit them are other people trying to sell something.
And, you have to consider the amount of time it takes. Could that time be better spend? Online forums that let you advertise in your signature line can work for some people but you have to be careful and, well, it take a lot of time. Perhaps your time would be better spent designing a pay-per-click ad or a print ad for a magazine.
