First of all, TAKE THE LOCAL ANESTHETIC! Second, you'll want to rinse your mouth out with a saline solution for about 48 hours post-"op". Put 1/4 teaspoon salt in 4 oz. warm water and swish your mouth out at least twice a day for two days. (Note: You don't have to use all 4 oz.--this is just the proper dilution ratio) This will help your gums to heal up a little faster and will help reduce any swelling that may occur. Also, take some Ibuprofen. This is a great pain reliever as well as an anti-pyuretic. (reduces swelling) Tylenol doesn't reduce any swelling.

Are you getting root planing and scaling? I having mine done right now it's not that bad your gums are a little sore for a day or two. Some advil or tylenol would help. Good luck!
how would i no what periodontis is??? ????????.
!!!!!!!!.
??
Im not sure but I think rinsing with listerine may help since it is an antiseptic mouth wash, but ask your dentist first.
You might consider having someone else give you a ride.
