Help- my ears are red and peeling, and not from a sunburn..?!

Question: Has anyone had this problem before? They are peeling, as a sunburn would, but I have not been out, nor have we had sunny weather. Is it possible I could be having an allergic reaction from my hair products, even though they are the same ones i've been using for a year?
Answers:
It's also possible to get a sunburn if you spend too much time around any kind of UV light, or maybe it's a combination of the two.

It is definitely possible. Allergies can develop at any time. I developed a severe allergy to onions in my early 20's.
I am sensitive to earrings with nickel in them.
mine are doing the same thing, but I just got mine pierced.
it probally is just dry skin

try some eudrecin
There is a possibility your body may have produced a new allergy. There was an antibiotic that I had used in the past and when I used it again recently my body had an allergic reaction. My doctor told me that there are always chances that our bodies can create new allergies. Try switching your hair products or lotions or maybe even your soaps or shampoos. Then see a dermatologist!
It could be the hair products e.g. if you don't wash the shampoo off properly, and if some is left on your ear and you wipe it with the towel instead of washing it off, it can begin to dry out the skin, leading to peeling.
it is possible, or it could be the weather, change of seasons, i've had something like that happen to my ears before, they got really dry and peely for no good reason whatsoever.

try a hypo-allergenic lotion, after a couple of days if that doesn't help, maybe look into changing your hair products.
You might have eczema or some form of contact dermatitis. Go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist to recommend something or go to the doctor to get it checked out. You may need a prescription, better to get these things seen to.
check out what you have been consuming..you might be allergic to some food. usually the ears go a little bit red in about 30 minutes you have consumed the food you are allergic to.This way you might conclude what is the food your body is reacting to. check out for dairy products.
also with your hair products.. although you have been using the same hair products, the body changes and you might bee reacting to the products.products which are not properly cleansed off, the residue left might cause you a reaction too. if you are using gel or other leave-on stuff on your hair, it might react on the ear area combined with sweat and exposure to the sun.
