Is remeron and cymblata in the same family?!
Question:
Answers:
They are both used to treat depression, but they work a little differently. Cymbalta works on serotonin and norepinephrine receptors, so this is why you will see diabetics (without any diagnosis of depression) with peripheral neuropathy (aka nerve pain, tingling, numbness in legs, etc.) using Cymbalta. Also, Cymbalta is also able to treat the physical pain that can sometimes accompany depression--which Remeron cannot do.
Other Answers:
My daughter was on Remeron for a while; it didn't help her much, but that may be because at that time she was being treated for depression, when actually she was bipolar.
Remember, everyone responds in their own unique ways to the various drugs. Also, other factors can make a difference in how effective any given drug is for you: factors such as age, gender, health problems, other medications, even (if you are a fertile woman) what part of your cycle you are in. Ask your pharmacist, and keep in touch with your doctor.
