Can I find Hoodia, the appetite suppressant in any store like Walmart?!

Question: Does anybody know if it really works?
Answers:
I don't think so, but I saw a doctor on Fox News Channel talking about Hoodia. He said that it is a rare plant in Africa or somewhere like that, and that it is an endangered species, however its effects seem to suppress appetite. The kicker is, he says anything you can buy on the internet or in stores, claiming it is "Hoodia" is not the real Hoodia that you are looking for, because the real Hoodia is not allowed to be shipped out of Africa.

Other Answers:
I know they've got it at GNC.
I don't think diet supplements really help unless ones prescribed by your doctor. I tried a few overthecounter, but cutting calories and increasing activity worked the best. I think the only thing you lose is your money.
Hoodia works by messing with your brain. More technically speaking the steroidal glycosides in hoodia affects nerve cells in the hypothalamus that monitor blood glucose. Your brain is tricked into thinking there is enough energy (blood sugar) which turns off the hunger mechanism. (Brown University in Rhode Island)

First, most hoodia information on the internet is unreliable. Second, anything that messes with your brain, and few people actually understand how it works, is extremely dangerous to take.

My suggestion is to reduce your calorie intake and increase your physical activity.
