This answer is 100% true, I went to the DR for the same thing and he suggested that rather than spending hundreds of dollars freezing or burning them off that I should do the following:
Take a piece of strong thin string and make and wind it around the wart and tie it EXTREMELY tight and clip the ends of the string off so it doesn;t look as if you have huge hairs growing out of your face. In about 2 days the wart will become rock hard and stiff and all you have to do is just rub it off or pull it off. It's also 100% PAINLESS. He said that by cutting off the blood supply to the wart it dries the skin and ables the person to just pull it right off without pain. This can be done for ANY size wart and by the way yes it does work and I have been fdoing this ever since he told me. Just remember that you must literally choke the crap out of the wart when you tie the string around it.

I have a friend that tied a long hair around the wart. So it was similar to the string answer you got earlier. However, the wart was not on her face. It worked, though, but it did take a couple days or so. I had several small warts in one area under my eye. (I didn't realize they were
warts until my dermatologist told me) Anyway, she did the little freeze spray thing and that took care of them. It was not painful and it really was not expensive. The best part is they are gone for good..
