they are afe and effective just follow the directions carefully..take them when ya are suppose to and try not to overlap them.good luck
Depends. Consult your doctor as you may have issues that you obviously did not disclose here that could be in conflict with the antidepressants.
It is pretty safe and effective but if you feel yourself becoming suicidal stop taking them at once.
its safe and effective..do not take them
I would avoid that if I was you. You don't say whether you suffer from depression or how bad a case it is,but look into St. John's Wort..it helped me wonders for my anxiety and mild depression. Luminex is a great product that boosts the melatonin in your system, producing calm, good feeling.
"It Depends". For me, Lexapro gave me the shakes so badly I thought the cure was worse than the disease - so I stopped.
I don't usually release this in public, but I used antidepressants when I was 18, by a doctor who found me extremely depressed. they did not do any good for me, they made me wanna sleep all the time, I also had a dry mouth in a very irritating way and my mood would just stabilize but I'd feel that I want to be alone and became so thin, no ability to eat or laugh.
I became so much upset that I took an overdose and found out by my roommate who took me to the hospital, I never did it again.and I never want to use Antidepressants anymore.
If you feel that you are somehow depressed use an herb called St. wart it is effective and will make your mood swings less and stabilize your emotions without any chemicals in it , making it safe and durable
It depends which ones you take. There are many different types. Most of them you shouldn't drink on, as alcohol is an antidepressant in itself. Prozac is the most famous type, also called Fluoxetine. They work by affecting the hormone balance inside your brain.
They do work, but you should consider that they are working on the symptoms not the cause. They are pretty much safe, and do work, but if there is an underlying cause you should seek help to get that sorted otherwise your problems are still going to be there when you come off them.
Also as with all drugs your body will get used to them, so it is a neverending battle to stay on top of depression via pills.
Also they can take up to 8 weeks to start working, so it's not a quick-fix cure.
As a personal choice I STRONGLY recommand CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
It is your choice, but please consider all the options before making a descision.
From what I understand they are very safe. So safe that when my wife was expecting the doctor actually told her to continue taking her Paxil for the remainder of her pregnancy. Granted my wife takes the meds for anxiety. Beware! Although antidepressants are probably the most freely subscibed meds, if you ever miss your medication or choose to stop taking them you dont just stop. Once my wife didnt have the cash to refill the script and oh buddy. She was extremely dizzy, she saw black spots all day, she had terrible mood swings, and worst of all she had bad anxiety attacks. Good Luck! Take this into consideration
Anti-depressants are not "very safe"! That is why you need to get a perscription for them. They are 'relatively' safe when taken under the supervision of a doctor and are discontinued when the situation is resolved or if no noticable improvements are being seen. Several medications to treat depression have been shown to cause thoughts of suicide, and therefore need to be closely watched.

I speak from a point of experience on this because my good friend/roommate killed himself in Febuary of last year after several months on anti-depressants. Please be careful with these dangerous drugs!

The best way to overcome depression is to get out there and help those less fortunate than yourself. You'll feel good for helping and be reminded that it could always be worse. Or just watch Jerry Springer..that always cheers me up!
