OBVOUSLY NOT FOR YOU
You can but most birthcontrol pills aren't made to be taken that long straight through. Especially if it is a tri-phasic pill, where there is a different amount of hormones in each week's pills. It's easier to do with a monophasic where the amount of hormones is the same throughout the month. Seasonale is a birth control pill designed to be taken for three months straight through. Though you could have some break through bleeding.

If you had just started taking the pill, you're even more likely to just start bleeding. Your body is still adjusting to having synthetic hormones in your system. Most pills take three months just to work through all the hormones leveling out and the side effects. It's not recommended you go more than three months without a period anyhow so it is good you gave your body a break and let it bleed.

So in conclusion, it DOES work. But only if you are on the right kind of pill, taking it correctly, and have been on it for more than three months. Try Seasonale or another mono-phasic type of pill if you are not already on that kind. And do talk to your gynecologist before deciding to put your body on that kind of cycle.
