Is mayonnaise really good for conditioning dry hair?!

Question: How effective is mayonnaise as a home remedy to condition dry hair?.Are there any other home remedies my friend can try? And how do you go about it?
Answers:
Mayonnaise Conditioner
Ingredients:
Directions:
1/2 cup mayo
Rinse and towel dry. Apply mayonnaise to the hair. Massage in. Let sit for 10-15 minutes, shampoo again lightly and rinse with an apple cider vinegar and water solution. This will help with the smell and remove any residue.

its supposed to be good just dont go near dogs cos there'll lick it out lol
Please do not do that. You will defenitly regret it and wish you would have spent the extra $5 for a deep conditioning treatment instead. I used the Mayonnaise treatment when I was younger and it took me a week to get the greasy feeling out of it and the smell is horrible as well. I have heard great things about V05 hot oil treatment for conditioning hair. It is only about $4 or $5. Pantene ProV makes a deep conditioning treatment as well. Dont do the home remedies, youll regret it.
Mayo is wonderful! Put it on your hair thick and then wrap your whole head in saran wrap and leave it on for about an hour and then wash it out. I use this once a month because I have very dry hair and it has stopped my hair from breaking and splitting. Be very careful and use real mayo and not miracle whip or something like that. Mayo is made of oil and eggs and eggs have lots of protein that your hair needs.
Yes. Also try rinsing your hair with beer, (it doesn't smell like beer once its dry.) After washing hair, coat it in mayonaise and pin up for a half hour, then rinse out.
It is very good but rinse well.
Mayonnaise is made from egg whites and oil. It has long been thought that eggs are good for the hair. And naturally, oil is good to condition hair. The other ingredient in mayo is cream of tarter which gives it the fluffiness. I don't think that the spice cream of tarter will do the same for your hair. And eggs can rot causing other problems.

Since mayo stinks and is made from oil, I would think that any conditioner with a good natural oil in it would be just as good for your hair without it spoiling or stinking. Besides, you might get salmonella poisoning if you ingested some of the mayo after it had been on your hair for a while and the egg ingredient in it has spoiled.
I wouldnt say it works. but you can have her use pure lemon extract. just mix a lid full with the shampoo in her hand. and have her rub it through her hair like she usually would. leave it in for 2 min.s it makes your hair shiny, oh and here's the great part!, it keeps away lice! i think that it is a big thing! when my friend told me, i tried it, and it works great!

you can find lemon extract at your local food store
it depends on how dry your hair is. if it's not really dry then it will get greasy and it makes your hair smell soo bad for weeks
