Why wont my Doctor give me biopsy results over the phone?!

Question: I had a biospy 2 weeks ago and the results came in, but my Dr. is insisting that I come into the office for the results. If they are negative why cant she just tell me over the phone? Is there some kind of law thatrequires Dr's to tll patientsoin person regarldess of the the results?
Answers:
if the results are negative they may want you to come in to discuss more options, if not they probably want to discuss treatment options.either way, they're sucking more money out of you.there is a policy about your confidential health information called HIPPA http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/

Other Answers:
because the information they have for you about your results may not be appropriate to give over the phone.
More and likely there are not negative results and maybe he/she would like to sit you down and discuss it and maybe give you treatment. I am not sure of a law. Call back and ask for results again and ask them why they cant tell you over the phone. I get my results over the phone. I have to get a biospy in a few wks, I hope they tell me over the phone lol.
The results are private people do still listen to other peoples calls and doctors are trained to be professional they dont give personal info on the phone go on in and pray its nothing bad
DEAR,
THE DOCTOR WONT TELL YOU OVER THE PHONE BECAUSE OF CONFIDENTIALITY REASONS. ANYBODY COULD BE LISTENING OR TAPPING PHONES THESE DAYS, NOT NECESSARILY SAYING THAT YOUR PHONE IS TAPPED. FOR AN EXAMPLE, I WAS SITTING ON A DIFFERENT FLOOR OF MY COMPLEX BUILDING NOT TOO LONG AGO, WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE A PHONE CALL ON MY CORDLESS PHONE WHEN IT KEPT SENDING BAD SIGNALS. ONE MINUTE I HEARD STATIC, AND THE NEXT MINUTE I HEARD MEN TALKING ABOUT A DRUG PICK UP! YOU SEE TECHNOLOGY THESE DAYS ARE VERY UPGRADED AND BESIDES ITS JUST A LAW THAT THEY HAVE BECAUSE HOW, ALSO, COULD THEY KNOW IT WAS REALLY YOU? !
