How come you can't keep your eyes open when you sneeze?!

Question:
Answers:
The received wisdom states that if you don't blink when you sneeze, your eyes will fly out of your head. Thankfully, as is often the case with urban legends, this theory is a load of hooey. Your eyeballs are safe and sound in their sockets. In reality, a sneeze is simply an involuntary nervous response to nasal irritation. According to this nifty science blog entry, the sneeze impulse affects a variety of body parts, including the abdomen, chest, neck, and face. During a sneeze, the impulses that travel through your face cause your eyelids to blink. This response is entirely automatic. There's nothing you can do about it. Sneezing puts a lot of pressure on your head and respiratory system, so blinking is probably a protective mechanism.

because when you sneeze germs come out of your nose and if you open your eyes germs are going to get into your eyes.

so it's a good thing that we can't open our eyes!
coz Brain shuts everything in whole body including eyes to withstand the pressure of explosion
Sneezing is a very intense coordinated reaction of multiple muscles. Its involuntarily controlled therefore your nervous system is momentarily seized and thus, you can't close your eyes.

Because if you sneezed with your eyes open your Brain would explode just joking because your nerves answer automatically.
cuz the pressure from your sneeze would make your eyeballs shoot out of your head, so you close your eyes so they dont pop out.
So you cant see where all your germs are going and you cant be held responsible for the repercussions.
For one closing your eyes while you sneeze is reflexes and you are born with reflexes. Second, If you did not, your eyes would pop out of your head. Lastly, The air coming out of your mouth when you sneeze is more than 200 miles per hour.
actually you can.ive done it and ive seen other people do it.like that one dude said its just a reflex we were born with, an automatic response to keep germs from our eyes.
