Could this be a pinched nerve?!

Question: I have a spot on my back that feels like a bee sting when I move my arms or back a certain way. It has gone numb in that spot, and I recently noticed it is also red and almost "scally" (spelling?). If it's not a pinched nerve, has anyone had anything like it and knows what it is? And don't worry, I'm going to the doctor soon for it.
Answers:
The most common symptoms of a pinched nerve are:

* numbness,
* "pins and needles" or burning sensations
* pain radiating outward from the injured area
