Phantom Pain in Calves when I run.?!

Question: I am a marathon Runner. Sometimes my my legs feel as if they have spiders crawling all over them. They tickle a little bit, but there is nothing there. What causes these Phantom Sensations in my legs?
Answers:
Most phantom sensations are caused by stimulation of your nerves. I can't say for sure, but people that do a lot of high impact exercise do put a lot of stress on your spine. The lower areas, particularly the lumbar section, have a lot of nerve endings that can get rubbed and jostled and pressed against during strenuous physical exercise. My first guess would be that you're experiencing sensations caused by that type of stimulation.

lightning0707 has a good answer. Pretty much what I was going to say. But I have also heard that you can get a tingling in your lefs from poor circulation in your blood vessels, like in the capalaries. It doesn't sound like this would be it for you because you are in such good shape.
