Why are my memories in third person?!

Question: I usually recall the past with myself in third person rather than first. There really haven't been any traumatic experiences in my life, so it's not depersonalizing the situations. Only a few very recent memories are in first person for me, and the rest are in third person. I also have dreams that are mostly in third person, with about a fourth of them in first person. I was wondering why I recall things with myself in third person, and if it has any signifigance.
Answers:
Usually when i daydream or recall memory it is usually in third person also. Most of the time when i recall memory it is to think to myself "What if i did this" or "Maybe it wouldn't have happened that way IF" its nothing to be worried about. deep down, subconciously you probably want to see yourself as others saw you at the moment in time.

i think you need to see a theropist for that problem
Gee, I think that would make you a very good author--as writing in the third person is a good thing. :)

You may not recall having any tramatic experiences in your past--but it is possible that you blocked some out. That could explain it.

I would definitely seek therapeutic help.
You have amazing analytic skills. I never realized that but I exist only in the present. I existed in the past and I see myself there as a person in my memory. Try your brain on some other mental questions.
usally if u see things as third peson that means DID. so go to a conoclor and take the DID test.
I dream in the 1st person, but it always switches to 3rd person just before I wake up. I don't think your dream state (1st/3rd person) is a diagnositic tool.

If you are functioning okay with remembering things in the 3rd person, why worry? You could ask a psychologist (not a psychiatrist) if this is indicative of something.
maybe u feel like u don't know yourself so u r looking at yourself like everyone else looks at you since you haven't had any traumatic experiences to make u think that u should be someone else.
you need a therapist or a phsicologist. but some of my memories are in 3rd person too.
I do the same thing. I dream and think in third person. You may want to get help. There is Ptsd, and Borderline Personality Disorder, and OCD, or even Split Personality.
