Question: ok, y'all people w/ abs.
how many crunches per day did you do to get your abs?
how many crunches do you do per day NOW?

I just love when people talk about doing 100s of crunches. Waste of time and waste of energy. The abdominal muscles work just like any other muscle and have to be challenged as such. First of all, high-repetition crunches will work nothing more than your endurance. If you want muscular abdominals, you have to challenge them with resistance and good form just like you would your chest, your back or any other muscle for that matter. Targeting the correct energy system is imperative. This means you should never enter into the aerobic phase of this exercise, ideally keeping it under 2 minutes at most.

Think of rolling a carpet and contracting fully on the top of the movement and squeeze. If you do them correctly, you shouldn't be able to do more than 30 crunches. Any more than that, and you're probably doing them half-azz, incorrectly or with a partial range of motion.

in order to really have 6-pack abs it almost has to be a natural thing in your body.

dude i say 4 sets of 15 crunches its amazing heres the trick you take 5 seconds going up and then another five seconds going down for each crunch PAINFUL! wait 90 seconds between sets and mabye try it with 40 pounds on your chest! and also you need to have NO fat on your stomach only skin! btw dude dont settle for a lousy 6 pack get a 8 pack.

Dont focus on the number or just crunches in and of themselves. To get a six pack you have to work both your upper and lower abs. Focus on the intensity rather than the number and only take 30 to 45 seconds rest in between sets. Listen always, i mean always mix up the ab routine. Lastly, you can work them to the cows come home but if you do not diet correctly and do the right amount of cardio then you will develope the heck out of them but never see them.
