is it normal for it to hurt when having sex?!

Question: ok, the other night i had sex, i hadnt had sex in about a month so me and my guy had sex and i dont understand why it hurt,it hurt when he would push inside me, he wasnt too big so i dont understand why it hurt! what could be a reason why it hurt?
Answers:
Is it always painful? Painful intercourse (dyspareunia) is a sign of Endometriosis (www.endocenter.org). If this was a one time deal, maybe you just weren't "ready" that particular time. If it persists, see your gyn and talk about possible diagnoses and treatment options.

your menstrual cycle? he was too rough? you're ovulating?
you may have issues with your uteris or ovaries. Go to a DR to ask or go to Planned Parenthood but Do see a Dr. since there could be a ton of other reasons like cancer.not to scare you but it IS reality that damnear everyone has some cancer. Sorry.better find out n catch it sooner than later.
You may need a little more foreplay. Also the more aroused you get it changes the shape of the vagina. So I've heard, I don't have one, but good luck in the future.

adding.yes seeing a dr. is a good idea.
If it happens often, it could be anything from cysts to an STD. You should see your doctor.
you may want to see a doctor. Make sure you are lubricated this could play a role in your pain.
Why do you say he was not too big if it hurt? Suggest you try some lube like K Y Gel or even loation and if that does not ease things see the doc.
No it's not normal the only time it should hurt is the first time you have sex. If it hurts something is being done wrong
No it is not normal, sex should not hurt,is this the first time you had sex with this guy there are a few reasons for this
sometimes before your period you could swell and it could be unconfortable
you could have a cyst or the most common one is a fibriods in or around your uterus, they are non cancerous tummors that about 90% of woman get. some may need no treament at all some may need treatment and if your having pain durning sex you may need treament your best answer is see your ob/gyn and if it is? it will be ok I have one it is the size of a 12week pregnancy and I am being treated for it surgery and I am fine
