you might need to buy another hair die or two and keep dying it till you get it right.
Enjoy the scarecrow look or try a buzz cut--it would be cool and easy for summer.
All the professional hairstylists I have seen say that the "do-it-yourself" haircolors are harsh, etc. (I think that's mostly because they want the money to do the job themselves). However, if I had ever had a problem like what happened to you today, I would go to a professional.

I mean, depending on what your hair type is, you could end up cracking it off or something if you try to keep re-applying color on top of the bleach. Good luck :) If you do go to a salon, they will be able to fix it. They are used to hair emergencies. Before I've done my own color, I've always asked my hairdresser if they could fix it if I mess it up and all of them have always acted like, for them, it's easy to fix. It will be okay. I had to wear a hat once until I could get back to the salon where this woman did a color mistake on my hair. She fixed it the next day - no problem.
what you need is a toner for your hair. In most places you can only get this from a professional.. so if you know one get a toner from her ,. otherwise I would go to a professional and get her to fix it.. a toner will work if you can get your hands on one. also call the number on the back of the box of dye .. they will also help you
if your hair is naturally brown, to go blond you need to dye it red first then blond, you could try dying it brown again.
If you already had color on your hair, your roots took the bleach and the colored part didn't take it as well. You need a toner. If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply house, you can purchase this there. Choose the shade you need and be sure to get one that says it is a toner and that it is darker than the white part and has a violet base (this will combat the orange color in the middle). You will need to mix this with 20 volume developer. ask the person working, but I think it is an equal mix with light shades. You may consider getting a protein filler as well to mix with it. again, get one with a violet base.
Toners such as Special Effects and Manic Panic will take out the brassy tones in blonde hair. However (as I'm bleaching my hair at this very moment myself, haha) the best thing for you to do is buy a darker color and dye over it all, then get it done professionally. Or next time you bleach it, put the bleach on the lower half of your hair fifteen minutes before you put it on your roots. Your roots AND your scalp will turn white if you leave it all on at once.
I wouldn't recommend applying anything to your hair until you've gotten professional advice because there are several factors that can affect the ability of your hair to grab the color correctly. This is best because they really should see the condition of your hair to avoid breakage or further damage. Sure you can use a protein filler or dye it darker, but if not done correctly, you will still have bands of color, dark ends and light roots. If that's not affordable you can contact the manufacturer of the hair color for corrective coloring advice. They have hotlines to guide you. You can get what you need at a beauty supply house.
