It would seem likely, those who are legitimately disabled,,,BUT

Well we are all thinking you may be eligible.

A physical or mental disability. But also children of disabled also receive a form of disability. There is also Social Security involved.
You must be a US citizen, have held a job, and accrued enough points in the social security system to qualify(you had to have worked long enough).
Being you can work, I don't think you can get disability, although you might be able to get partial..
Go to the social security website and research what conditions are eligible.

www.ssa.gov

If you apply for benefits, be sure you give them the info to check all your medical records and always request copies of your medical info when you leave the doctor's office, then send it directly to the worker at the SS office in charge of your case. You might need to get a disability attorney. Sometimes it speeds things up. They don't charge you anything up front, just a set percentage of any back benefits you might get.
Ok, looks like you are in need of serious answers and the kids came out to play.
I would advise you to get a lawyer right now! My husband and I have a friend that has had several heart attacks and is awaiting a transplant. He can't hardly walk two feet and yet was denied disability. He finally got a lawyer and was approved.
On the other hand, my youngest step-son's lazy girlfriend was able to get disability without any problems. She has had two seizures in her life and claims she is disabled. She also uses that excuses to get out of all housework, cooking and anything else that might require getting off her bum and away from her TV set.
I don't know if the disability must be permanent or just long lasting. Please get a lawyer.
fIRST I WOULD GO TO YOUR LOCAL SSA OFFICE IN YOUR TOWN. DON'T CALL JUST GO UP THERE. (MAKE SURE YOU KEEP TRACK OF ALL THE DATES AND DOCUMENTS YOU GOT FRM THE ACCIDENT) THEN THE SSA (SSD) WILL CONTACT THE DOCTOR(WHICH YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE THE DOC AWARE OF THEM SENDING THE DOC DOCUMENTS) IF YOU HAVENT YOU SHOULD GO SEE A FOOT SPECIALIST(THIS WAY YOUR SHOWING SSA (OR SSI,SSD) THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER AND IT WILL HELP YOUR CASE. YOU WILL PROBABLY END UP GETTING FRUSTRATED BECAUSE IT IS A LONG PROCESS W/ PAPER WORK ETC. PLUS THE DOC MIGHT BE SLOW ON DOING THE PAPER WORK. IF THAT DOES HAPPEN ESTABLISH A GOOD RELATIONSHIP W/ YOUR SOCIAL WORKER SO YOU TWO CAN WORK TOGETHER. AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE FAX MACHINE. ENCOURAGE DOC,SOCIAL WORKER TO USE FAX MACHINES IN YOUR CASE FOR IT GO FASTER THAN MAILING.(TRUST ME I KNOW I DID ALL MY PAPER WORK BY FAXING AND I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT) LAST BUT NOT LEAST,MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THIS MATTER BECAUSE PROBLEMS CAN HAPPEN AND YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE NOT GONNA TRY TO SNOWBALL YOU.ANOTHER WAY YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR OVER THE INTERNET AT WWW.SSA.GOV/ AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST IF IT IS TAKING TO LONG I WOULD SUGGEST ON HIRING A LAWYER. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO REMEMBER DATES FRM THE ACCIDENT TO THE LAST DAY YOU WORKED BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT TAKE A LONG TIME TO GET APRROVED ONCE YOU ARE YOU WILL GET A LUMP SUM BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO GO BACK FRM THE ACCIDENT OR THE LAST DAY OF YOUR JOB. GOOD LUCK

MY OWN EXPERIANCE. OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW WHO WENT THROUGH EXPERIANCE. JUST KEEP YOUR HEAD UP BECAUSE IT IS A LONG PROCCES. BUT REMEMBER WHEN YOU ARE APPROVED AT LEAST THEY COMPENSATE YOU.
From what you've written, it is possible you could be awarded long term or permanent disability status.

The first person I would suggest you speak with is your doctor. He or she can advise you on whether (and when) it's a good idea to apply for disability, since both of you will have much paperwork to fill out. It's a long, arduous process, and even though you may get turned down the first time, you can appeal the decision and reapply at a later date.

One other VERY IMPORTANT suggestion is - KEEP RECORDS of everything, including:

* Doctors' names and addresses
* Dates you were seen by them
* Lab and x-ray test reports
* All info pertaining to your accident
* Phone calls you make about your condition
* Medications you take (or took) and quantities
* Pain(s) you have on a regular (or infrequent) basis
* Dates of missed work due to your condition

It is difficult to get social security disability. If you are able to work you won't get it.Try to get a job that allows you to sit down.
