i think i have a ear infection at the top of my ear.what should i do?!

Question: i just got a piercing on my upper ear abt 6 days ago.yesterday i removed the stud and replaced it with a ear stick, now 3/4 of my ear is red and theres plenty of pus discharge.i suspect theres an infection.what should i do?remove the stick?or just keep dripping alcohol?
Answers:
You are supposed to wait 4-8 weeks to take out the stud. That is the problem. The hole didn't have enough time to make a good hole.Didn't they tell you that? What i would recommend to do is clean out the stud, clean your ear and hands, and than put it back in. Turn it twice a day and put some alcohol in there, with clean hands.Always have clean hands! If it doens't get better after 1 week, i would take it out, and repierce after that, and than leave it in there for at least 4 weeks to heal and make a good hole!

Other Answers:
put alcohol pad and rub it, if it's still red in a few days, go to the doctor.
This might sound crazy but I used to have a few piercing, and one guy I went to to get one done, told me to use saline solution. I tried it, and it clears up infections very quick. You can get it at any drug store, in the contacts/glasses section, just get the generic brand.
consult your earpiercer
Please, next time do not get pierced with a stud/gun. Needles are much better and less painful.

You could leave the barbell in and do a sea salt soak. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of sea salt (not regular salt) in one cup of warm water. Do it in one of those tupperware containers and soak your ear in the solution for 2-3 times a day.

I'm not a doctor, but it's worked for me.
