How safe is birthcontrol?!

Question: I'm currently taking Levlite birthcontrol pills, and I've heard recently that there's an 85% chance of getting pregnant. I'm confused, because my doctor told me different, but my surgeon told me the 85% chance of getting pregnant. I've been on the pill for about 9 months now, and I've yet to get pregnant, but what if it fails

I've never heard only 85% protection with birth control pills? Usually 99.9%! If taken correctly, meaning everyday around the same time of day, you will not get pregnant!
I know 2 people who now have kids because their birth control didn't do its job.you just have to either abstain from sex or go at it knowing that birth control is never 100% effective.its your choice
Birth control is NOT ALWAYS reliable. The chance of getting pregnant is rare. At least with the ones I have taken.

If you are on the pill and you take antibiotics, those can weaken the effect of the pill, so can other medications.

I think that it's best to just listen to your doctor and also read the information that came with the pills. If you no longer have it, look it up on the internet.
follow the directions and you wont have any worries. dont listen to everything people says
My birth control is 99.9% effective and I haven't heard very many that are less than that.

I don't think its safe, because I am on the shot and that has limited estrogen. And because of that I have premature osteoporoious. I am athletic and that makes my bones hurt very badly, because I am lacking in bone mass and some essentials that birth control takes away.

But then again I look at it like hey I am not going to have a kid!
