how do i get rid of a hicky?!

Question: i have a hicky on my neck and its reddish purple. its definitly fresh i have a job interview tommorow and i need to know how to get rid of it

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about this affliction. A hickey is nothing more than a bruise, and like all bruises it just needs some time to heal. You can, however, try a few tricks to make it fade faster.

But you can also try to apply a cold compress immediately (although that may interrupt a moment of passion). Keep the compress on 20 minutes, off 20 minutes. The cold will constrict blood vessels and help keep the bruise from spreading.

2. If the hickey lasts for more than 48 hours, apply wet, warm compresses to decrease any pain or swelling. Once the blood has stopped spreading around the bruise, apply heat, which dilates blood vessels and thus speeds up the sweeping away of blood cells. In most cases, moist heat is more effective than dry heat, because the moisture helps wick the heat beneath the skin.

3. Apply concealer in a shade that's lighter than your natural skin color and discreet enough to fend off unwanted attention.

4. Remember that if all else fails, nothing beats a turtleneck sweater - or a scarf in summer.

Ha Ha all i have to say is:
1) your screwed (^_^)
2) you shouldent have people sucking on yoo anyways
TIME - some women's makeup can cover them...I'd suggest a turtleneck :)
make-up a foundation and some powder thats ur shade should do the trick and put a bit of ice on it before u apply and wipe dry..
my bf tried this one trick once and basically you pick on it and pinch it and rub the skin.. basically get blood flowing!
You can't get rid of it. The reddish purple you are seeing is the result of damaged capilaries. It takes time to heal. Try make up.foundation. It should make it less noticiable until it heals.

Good luck with your interview.
There isnt any specific method. but i suggest:
A-Wear a high collar shirt.
B-Put a couple of band aids on it, pretend you got hurt.

Thats what i do.
Smack the girl/boy upside the head that gave it to you and then seek out a friend preferrably a girl and ask her to do a miracle make-up job on you before the interview. And stop letting people give you hickys there so %$^&ing gross.
You might try putting ice on it because it is a bruise. When I was a teen us gals used to try to cover it with makeup or that stuff they use to hide pimples. or wear a turtle neck lol.
toothpaste and a high necked top
Can u say "band-aid?"
toothpaste
I don't know of anything that can actually get rid of it, but you should be able to cover it up with some heavy-duty makeup.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you don't have makeup, or experience buying, matching, or applying it. so, here's what you need to do.

Go to CVS to the makeup aisle and use the skin on the back of your hand to match a foundation to your skin color (you'll have to look at the colors on the box or foundation lids). Look for something marked "full coverage" - things marked as "sheer coverage" mean that you can see through the foundation a bit and you don't want that. Pick up whatever looks closest then do the same thing with concealer. I'd recommend a stick concealer (meaning, it comes in a tube like lipstick) because those tend to be a bit thicker and cover better. Buy them and take them outside the store. In the car, try a little bit of the makeup on the back of your hand or along your jawline to see if it really does match. (It matches if you can't or can barely tell where the makeup is on your skin - it should blend right in.) If it doesn't, CVS has a full refund guarantee if your make-up doesn't match, so you can walk right back in the store and get your money back so you can try something else.

OK, once you've got your makeup. rub the concealer on the hickey so that it's all covered. Then use your fingers, a brush, or a makeup sponge (fingers should work fine) to blend it in a bit. Then repeat with the foundation.

..or you could just wear clothing that covers the hickey.

Good luck on your interview! :)
foundation that is close to your skin color (make-up) just don't use a putty knife and put on gently as not rub it red- and maybe a small amount of powder- if nothing else it will help make it not so obovous- Good Luck
Hickeys are the result of an extreme amount of suction that causes bruising or broken capillaries beneath the surface of the skin and...
there is no "fast way" to get rid of a hickey. In fact, there is no way to get rid of one other than by being patient (or impatient, but that just makes it seem longer). Just as you cannot make a bruise on your arm go away quickly, you cannot make one on your neck disappear.

Of course, you have a range of cover-up options, such as make-up, and creative uses of shirt collars, and turtlenecks. You may be able to disguise the hickey for a few days until it becomes less noticeable. Or, you can act like there's nothing wrong and be careful not to draw attention to the hickey.

Hickeys are fun but socially unacceptable. Unfortunately, there is no direct cure but here are some ideas:

1) Put a spoon in the freezer for 15 minutes then apply it to the spot. Same will work with a compress. Constricts the blood vessels.

2) I don't know how old you are...if you are OVER 20.taken an asprin every eight hours or so.as long as you aren't taking any other meds that might be affected. And if you plan on giving blood or having blood labs, don't take asprin. Asprin is a blood thinner (why you give it to someone when they are having a heart attack) and will get the blood around the bruise to circulate faster.

3) Whoever gave it to you should slightly massage it. :0)

4) Wear turtlenecks/sweaters/collard shirts

5) Get some make up to lighten it up. Thats what my girlfriend used to apply to mine in the morning.

Hope this helps!
