Would I be able to take a basic wrap dress I already own to a seamstress/tailor!

Question: I have a wrap dress I love and I want to make more copies of it- is there anything I need to know before I find a seamstress/tailor to make it? The fabric is 100% polyester, but could I bring in a different type (maybe all cotton or a blend)?
Answers:
Sure, if your seamstress is a good one he/she should be able to easily do this. Good luck. I know what it's love to love a piece of clothing so much you want more than one of it.

Yes it can happen, the person can give you the best advice on your other questions since they will be making the dress.
depends some designers wont allow thier designs copied and some seamstress wont even try..but most of them would so probably
The answer is yes. You need to bring matching thread at least. Once you find you seamstress she will tell you the other things to bring. One of my seamstresses wanted me to bring everything from material, interfacing, thread to seam binding and another one just wanted the material. Always ask question before you hire someone to sew for you. ex: price, time you can expect the finished garment, when she will want you to come in for fitting, does she press the item before she gives it to you, does she double stitch seams. Good luck!
