Is it necessary to have a biopsy after bilateral tonsilectomy to detect whether!

Question: I do have recurrent tonsilitis prior that operation. My doctor advised me to have it remove.

Just wanna know if there could have been other possible problem etc.
Answers:
Yes, because then the Doctors can determine how to proceed if sample is malignant, and can treat it appropriately. Resulting in giving you the best possible treatment.

This is routine nothing has to be wrong :)

Yes you need a biopsy
It really doesn't matter if it's necessary or not, it's hospital and doctor protocol for a biopsy to be done on any infected organ, appendage etc. They do this as a "just in case" type measure. I've worked at a hospital for 8 1/2 yrs. and in my experience this is done on all patients 100% of the time.
No. You do not need to be worried about a biopsy. If there was anything remotely indicative of cancer , your doctor would have already ordered one. Tonsilectomies are extremely common, they take place everyday. I have yet to hear of one that was performed in light of cancer.
