Can dehydration cause seizures?!

Question: My little girl has recently been diagnosed with seizure disorder. She has had 2 seizures in the past year and a half. So far all of her test results have been normal. But she doesn't like to drink water and I'm wondering if that could have triggered the seizures.

hi

I also have a seizure disorder due to a brain tumor.
hot weather, or just getting overheated greatly increases. My seizures. I've talk too other people with seizure disorders, i.e. brain tumor/epilepsy and it seems pretty consistent he is a problem.
heat can cause the brain to swell just a bit. In some of us, just don't have enough extra room to accommodate the extra swelling.

to stay cool :)

On eoff seizure - yes- not a disorder
Being dehydrated could precipitate a seizure in someone already prone to seizures, but would not cause them per se. However Im sure your little girl is not getting clinically dehydrated.
Hi,

I have epilepsy and never experienced a seizure due to possible dehydration. I know seizures can be caused by stress, and not enough rest. If your child does not like water try putting lemon in it or have her eat ice.
